Checked against the Mac app source on 25 October 2026. A novice has not yet been recorded completing this on a clean Mac. Where a step is untested, the page says so.

The Mac
The app is built for macOS 14 and later. There is no Windows, iPhone, or iPad app. You need the BitBytec window open, because the connector listens only on this Mac.
The planning chat
The app can copy a connector block for Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT. Those are the paste locations in the app today. Grok is a coding agent the Mac can launch when its command is installed. A tested path for Grok as the planning chat is not in the app.
Node has to be available. The connector runs through it. BitBytec does not install Node.
The coding agent
One of these commands, already signed in: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor’s agent command, or Grok. Finding the command is not the same as a working login. If none is found, the desk shows where to get one. It does not run the install.
Pack tools
| If you choose | You also need |
|---|---|
| Apps | Flutter on the Mac. BitBytec looks in the usual command folders and in ~/development/flutter/bin. It does not install Flutter. |
| Websites | No extra language. Accept writes an index page. |
| Backends | The starter is a small server on port 8787. It runs on your Mac. |
| Tools | A single page and a short readme. No extra install is required by the starter. |
Costs that are not BitBytec
There is no BitBytec checkout and no published BitBytec price. Your chat subscription, your coding-agent account, Apple developer membership, a domain, or hosting are separate, and only if you choose them later.
Connect a chat once the app is open.
