Apple put Siri AI on a screen for the house.

Summary of Apple’s press release. The claims below are theirs.

Apple introduced HomeView, a screen for the home with a 7-inch display, powered by Apple Intelligence and the version of Siri they call Siri AI. Their release says it plays music, places FaceTime calls, watches the house, and takes voice commands. It recognises faces, so each person sees their own Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My.

Paired with an iPhone or iPad that has Apple Intelligence, they say Siri can use that person’s messages, calendar, and music. A conversation that starts on HomeView can continue on the phone. Apple says the history syncs with iCloud.

The release is specific about money and maps. Pre-orders opened on 13 October in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK, and the US, at $299. Both the tabletop and the wall-mounted version are that price. On sale from 13 November. Singapore pre-orders opened on 15 October. South Africa is through resellers, same on-sale date. Apple says HomeView is not for sale in the European Union, because Siri AI is not available there in iOS yet.

It is Apple’s box, in Apple’s countries, on Apple’s date.

If what you want is an app for your own shop or your own family, that is a different thing. You say it in chat. Your Mac asks before it builds. You watch a preview.
