Anthropic handed its agent playbook to a foundation.

Anthropic is donating Agent Skills to the Agentic AI Foundation. Agent Skills is the open standard they published for giving an agent a specific job and a way of working. They say more than 70 agent platforms have taken it up since December 2025, including ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and VS Code.

This is not a new model. It is a format for know-how: here is the task, here is how to do it, hand it to whichever agent is installed.
